2008 Loyola Marymount Recruiting Information


Fremont High School (6'5" 190, Freshman)

SG - LaRon Armstead

College Hoops IQ says:

Armstead averaged 19.7 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game as a senior at Fremont High School in Los Angeles. His on-court performance led to a First-Team All-City honor and a trip to the City Section semifinals, but Armstead is also solid in the class room (3.4 GPA) and in the community as a volunteer.

Seton Hall University (6'3" 185, Junior)

SG - Larry Davis

College Hoops IQ says:

Larry Davis played two seasons in the Big East at Seton Hall University and averaged 6.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game as a Pirate. He will sit out the 2008-09 season in accordance with the guidelines established by the NCAA for transferring student-athletes. Davis played his high school basketball in New York City for Christ the King High School, and was widely considered a top prep prospect.

United Kindom (6'7" 210, Freshman)

SF - Ashley Hamilton

College Hoops IQ says:

Hamilton played his high school ball at Lawrence Academy, but has also spent time at the Gran Canaria Basketball Academy in Spain. Hamilton is one of 33 players vying for a spot on Great Britain's National Team. He played for the England Under-20 National team that finished with a quarterfinal appearance at the European Championships.

Chipola College (6'4" 190, Sophomore)

SG - Vernon Teel

College Hoops IQ says:

As a senior, Teel averaged 35.7 points, 11.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 4.0 steals per game for Flushing High School in New York. He received multiple awards as a prep player including a McDonald's All-American nomination for the 2005-06 season. Teel originally committed to play ball at Long Island University, but transfered to Chipola College. Teel helped guide Chipola College to the Florida State Championship.

University of Oregon (6'7" 210, Sophomore)

SF - Drew Viney

College Hoops IQ says:

Viney played his freshman season at the University of Oregon, and averaged 1.5 points and 1.2 rebounds per game. He will sit out the 2008-09 season in accordance with the guidelines established by the NCAA for transferring student-athletes. Viney played his high school basketball at Villa Park High School where he averaged 31 points and 12 rebounds a game as a senior.
